TYPE 2 DIABETES IN MEN VS WOMEN

Diabetes, particularly type 2, is more common in men than in women. Females, on the other hand, frequently have more serious complications and a higher chance of deathType 2 diabetes is caused by increased insulin resistance, which is related to weight gain, sedentary lifestyles, and poor diet.

Testosterone and Diabetes:
Testosterone, an androgen hormone, is essential throughout male puberty. It promotes muscular and hair growth, voice alterations, and genital development. This hormone is also vital throughout a man's life, supporting sperm production. Females also produce testosterone in relatively low amounts, which aids in 
hormone balance, particularly after menopause. 

Lower testosterone levels are linked to a higherrisk of type 2 diabetes in males, according to new research. Women with high blood testosterone levels, on the other hand, have been found to be more vulnerable. 

Testosterone plays a role in fat deposition. Subcutaneous fat deposition and visceral fat deposition are two types of fat deposition that differ in their location, with the former occurring near the skin's surface and the latter occurring around organs. Type 2 diabetes is linked to a higher risk of visceral fat deposition. Low testosterone levels in men have also been linked to increased visceral fat deposition, which can contribute to type 2 diabetes.

Complications of diabetes in men and 
women:
The majority of diabetic symptoms are the same for both men and women. Constant thirst, frequent urination, fatigue, dizziness, and  weight loss are some of the common symptoms.

Men, on the other hand, are more likely to have muscle loss and genital thrush. Symptoms including genital yeast infections, urinary tract infections, and polycystic ovary syndrome are common in women. 

Diabetes, if not properly managed, can lead to several major health issues. Amputation, neuropathy, retinopathy, cardiovascular disease, and kidney disease are among them. Erectile dysfunction affects 45 percent of men with diabetes due to nerve, muscle, and blood vessel damage. Women, on the other hand, have a substantially higher risk of heart disease, kidney disease, and depression. In general, this makes it significantly more problematic for women than it is for men.

Menopause is another issue for diabetic women. The combination of diabetes and hormonal changes might cause blood glucose levels to rise even higherweight gain, and sleeping issues. As a result, significant complications may arise, aggravating previous health problems.
