Bharat Biotech's nasal vaccine iNCOVACC has been authorized as a booster dose, according to Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya. The intranasal Covid vaccination from Bharat Biotech will be offered in private clinics and will be unveiled on CoWIN on Friday night.
"The nasal vaccine has been approved by the Indian government. It will initially be accessible in private hospitals as a heterologous booster. From today, it will be a part of the Covid vaccination program" reputable sources stated.
The Nasal vaccine from Bharat Biotech would be India's first such booster dose. It can be provided to those above the age of 18. The vaccine's price will be determined soon, and it will be available in both government and private facilities.
The vaccine was designated as the "World's First Intra-Nasal COVID Vaccine Developed by India" by the Ministry of Science. The vaccine was created in collaboration with Washington University in St. Louis.
According to Bharat Biotech, the nasal route has significant potential for immunization due to the structured immune systems of the nasal mucosa. It is also non-invasive, needle-free, and simple to administer because no trained healthcare staff are required.
