SIGNS OF NUTRITIONAL DEFICIENCY YOU SHOULDN'T IGNORE

Edited by, SNEHA MAVIS (Dr. Medicine Specials)

HAIR LOSS:

Hair loss may be a sign of an iron deficit in your body. While losing about 100 hairs each day is typical, anything more than that could indicate a more serious problem. Weakness and dizziness can sometimes be signs of an iron shortage. So, if you've been having any of these symptoms, it's time to up your iron intake and talk to your doctor about it.

UNEXPECTED WEIGHT LOSS:

One of the most prominent signs of nutrient deficiency in the body is unintentional weight loss. The body relies on macro and micronutrients for normal functioning, but in the event of a deficiency, it turns to catabolism stored in the body for emergency fuel.

NIGHT BLINDNESS:

If you face difficulty in your vision during the night or any signs of it, then it could be your body's way of indicating vitamin A deficiency. Vitamin A  in the body is linked to eye health and other symptoms of its deficiency include dry eyes, and throat and chest infection.

BONE PAIN:

Vitamin D and calcium levels in the body play a big role in bone health . If you have been experiencing bone aches, especially in your legs, it could be a symptom of a deficiency in one or both of these nutrients. Anemia and iron deficiency are also associated with bone pain. So, if you have been experiencing this problem recently, it's time to see a doctor and enhanced your body's nutrient intake.

SLOW HEALING WOUNDS:

Our bodies are prepared to cope with smart wounds and scars on their own; but, if you observe that the body is taking longer to recover than usual, this could indicate a vitamin C deficiency. This nutrient not only increases immunity but also aids the body in dealing with inflammation and hastening wound healing.
