HOME REMEDIES FOR SORE THROAT

The soreness, itching, or irritation of the throat is referred to as a sore throat. A sore throat's most common symptom is throat pain. When you try to swallow, it can get worse, and you might have trouble swallowing foods or liquids. Sore throats can be caused by viral illnesses (such as the common cold), bacterial infections ( such as strep throat), tonsilitis, and even pain after tonsillectomies (surgical removal of the tonsils).

The remedies given here would help to relieve the discomfort and pain.

Honey:

Honey has antibacterial characteristics and may aid in the relief of a sore throat caused by an infection. To soothe a sore throat, mix honey with hot water or tea and lemon juice. According to one study Honey was proven to be even more helpful than cough suppressants at taming overnight coughs.

Raw garlic:

Garlic contains antimicrobial characteristics that can aid with bacterial infections and may reduce sore throat symptoms. When raw garlic is crushed, a component known as allicin is released, which has antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral properties.

Salt water:

Gargling with warm salt water might help to relieve a sore throat and dissolve mucus. It's also believed to aid in the killing of micro-organisms in the throat. It can be gargled to minimise oedema and keep the throat clean. Every three hours or so, repeat this procedure.

Chicken soup:

Hot soup might help thin sinus congestion and soothe a sore throat. It also keeps you hydrated and it may contain anti-inflammatory chemicals that can help alleviate cold symptoms.

Apple cider vinegar:

Because vinegar is acidic, it can kill bacteria in the throat while also coating and soothing a sore throat. It may also help to release mucus that's iritating you throat. Mix 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar with 8 ounces water to use as a gargle.
